First Version Thoughts


I have worked on and off on this for the past two months. I am still new to Unity and learning a lot of stuff on the way, so it's been taking like an hour or so to fix every problem lol. I kind of just wanted to create an actual game on Unity for once so I made a project that could be completed quickly for my summer vacation. The big idea for this is to make an RPG where you collect cards, build your deck and beat powerful opponents, and then maybe play against your friends online. The smaller idea is to make a lane based card game that'll be basic enough to understand at a fundamental level and complex enough to get crazy when your cards are max level and have four abilities each. I'm not a strategy lord and I wouldn't say I'm much of a TCG enthusiast either, but I do like games where you collect creatures and use them to fight, and to be fair I had already made a game basically exactly like this one when I was younger, only it was made of paper and too complex to play without a machine knowing what's going on... I wouldn't say this is my dream game but it is a form of tying up loose ends.

For the future of the project, I will continue working on it, not constantly, just working whenever I can or feel like. What's next is to make status effects and temporary modifiers for a few abilities I would like to introduce. I have to make more abilities, just, in general. I also plan on making said abilities passive, so they will always be used and don't need activation. I would also like to find an actual artistic direction for this game, I already have an idea of what my creatures could look like, which is basically a mixture of every creature collecting TCG, with elemental pets, mischievious spirits and kaijus.
